Pancakes From Scratch

Inspired by a recipe from a news article we found once

Servings: 1-2 people
Prep time: 5-10 minutes
Cooking time: 15-20 minutes

Tools:
  • Medium (or large) mixing bowl
  • Medium (or large) pan
  • Strainer (optional)
  • Whisk (optional)

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar (brown or white)
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp virgin olive oil to mix (or 1.5 tbsp melted butter)
  • Maple syrup (or your preference, optional)
  • Blueberries (optional)

Directions:
1.) Pour your flour through a strainer over a bowl.  If you don't have a strainer, you can use a fork to break up any flour chunks.  Add baking powder, salt and sugar.

2.) Make a hole in the center and pour the milk, egg and olive oil.  Mix batter gently.

3.) Pour a tablespoon of virgin olive oil (or butter) into the cooking pan and allow to warm.  When ready, pour 1/2 cup batter (or however big) for your pancake.

4.) Flip pancake
when bubbles start to form in the center or when edges start to brown.

5.) Stack and serve with maple syrup and/or blueberries.

Voila!  You did it!
