Servings: 2-4
Prep time: 5-10 minutes (not including thaw time)
Prep time: 5-10 minutes (not including thaw time)
Cooking time: 30-60 minutes
Tools:
- Large pot
- Large bowl
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/4 onion, diced
- 1 lb slices of beef
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 potato, sliced
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Pepper flakes
Directions:
1.) Marinate beef with sprinkles of salt, pepper, and paprika to flavor. Add 1 tablespoon of garlic and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, then let sit.
2.) Set pan to medium heat, pour 2 tbsp of virgin olive oil (or your choice of cooking oil), and cook garlic and onions until lightly browned.
3.) Add meat and allow to cook for about 1-2 minutes each side or until browned depending on meat thickness. It will be slow-cooked for a while, so don't overcook or else it will be chewy like rubber.
4.) Add carrots and allow to cook for about 2-3 minutes, then pour 1L (or 1 quart) of water and lower heat to a simmer for 5-10 minutes (or longer if carrots are cut thick).
5.) Add potatoes and let simmer for 10-30 minutes to tenderize meat and potatoes to preference. Season as needed.
